Tulum is the largest Mayan City built on the coast and only 80 miles southwest of Cancun. Among the structures in Tulum are El Castillo (The castle), the most imposing large stone structure located on the cliff which is a temple as well as fortress that was once covered with stucco, just as several un-restored palace-like buildings settled around it.
